About the event

Who decides which stories are told? How do newsrooms shape our understanding of civil rights? What is the media’s role in upholding democracy?

This panel brings together three distinguished journalists to examine the critical role of media in amplifying or silencing voices in the fight for justice. From the pioneering Black press that covered stories mainstream media ignored to today's battles over representation in newsrooms and coverage, this conversation explores how journalism both reflects and shapes America's ongoing struggles for equality and belonging.
