Tom Edwards

Tom Edwards is a Sarasota County School Board Member, elected in 2020 and re-elected in 2024, known for his strong advocacy for student success, public education, and inclusive policy. He brings over 40 years of entrepreneurial leadership as co-founder of two businesses and 11 years of legislative experience supporting small business development in New York state.​

 

In 2025, Tom was named Executive Director of Project Pride SRQ, where his commitment to understanding and inclusion is guiding new community impact initiatives. A competitive Masters rower, Tom helped launch the Newtown Rowing Initiative, expanding access to rowing for Title I students in partnership with Sarasota Crew. He also serves on the Board of the Sarasota Scullers.
