About Dan

Dan grew up in Chicago and studied at the University of Michigan and the London School of Economics.  After completing his MBA at Harvard Business School, Dan focused on international agribusiness. He joined the Peace Corps and worked with Kenya's Ministry of Agriculture, leading efforts to help small farmers develop horticulture exports.

Following his Peace Corps service, Dan moved to Copenhagen to head planning for a Danish company developing cut flower exports to European markets. There, he met Litten, and they relocated to London, where they raised their two sons and where Dan built an intellectual property company helping people and companies commercialize new inventions.

After decades abroad, Dan and Litten moved to Sarasota in 2008. Drawing on their years of living and working within different cultures, they founded the Boxser Diversity Initiative in 2009 to foster greater understanding and appreciation of diversity in their community.
